Honestly if been thinking the same thing myself. That feeling will likely come back some when it’s showed off again and it’s actually available to purchase, but I’m just not super interested in the Vision Pro right now. Even if I scrape together the $3,499+ it’s going to cost, I’m still not sure how I would even use it day to day.

If the Vision Pro was available to purchase as soon as it was shown off I’d almost certainly have found the money and justified the expense. The further away from the presentation I get, however, the less interest I have. Aside from how sick it makes me feel, I hate wearing the Meta Quest. It just feels restrictive hanging off my head. I also don’t want to do *any* of the things Apple demoed you could do in the thing.

I’m just thinking about how I use computers, fwiw.

My day job is 8 hours every weekday. No headset for that since I can’t use personal devices (besides, are Figma and web apps going to be awesome in it? I doubt it right now.)

After work I hang out with my wife or see people. I use my phone/computer, but wouldn’t use the headset with other people around.

Honestly all I can think of are the couple hours I wake up early on weekends and watch a movie or two. That’s something, but not a ton.

@matt It sounds like you just need to convince your IT department to buy one for you so it’s not a personal device lol

@matt it’s also a weird thing to think about … if you only use Vision Pro for work as a Mac display and don’t use Vision apps for work would it count as an external monitor would the personal device rule apply?

@joshuawold @matt I’m guessing you’ll need to be logged into the same iCloud account for the Mac thing to work and that would be a no go I’m guessing to keep work and personal stuff separate, but maybe not needed for that feature to work

@tchaten @matt ahh you’re probably right. Good point. I’ve never had an Apple “corporate” account.

@joshuawold @tchaten Yeah, what that means for me is I can install any app I want (yay) but my computer must be logged in with my work iCloudud account. So any app that syncs with iCloud is basically useless to me, which is annoying & why I love apps that at least have an option to *not* use iCloud.
