Will it be possible to see comment and post downvotes on the app? - Divisions by zero

So far, it seems that out of all the various Lemmy apps, Jerboa is the only one that actually shows downvote counts. All the other apps have it removed or abstracted into a percentage the way reddit handled it. It’s very annoying. Will Sync have an option to see downvote counts for comments and posts?

Memmy shows the counts.
So does thunder
So it does. This app also has a very slick UI that looks great. I’ll be using this one until Sync is ready. Thanks for letting me know about it.

Hey there, main dev of Thunder popping in! While Thunder was primarily focused on swipe gestures at the beginning stages, additional support for button equivalents and much more are being added in the next general release

The following things are currently out as a pre-release/nightly and will hopefully reach general release in the upcoming days:

  • Comment button actions in case you’re not a fan of swipe gestures
  • Accessing a user’s profile can be done by tapping on their name
  • Sharing a link to a comment will be available by long pressing on a comment
  • You can copy the text of a full comment by long pressing on a comment

Unfortunately, blocking a user and selectively copying text (copying parts of it) is not yet available, but are existing things that will likely come in the future!

If you’d like, you can check out the latest nightly version here to take a look at the features I mentioned! (nightly version)

Release v0.2.1-alpha.5+12 · thunder-app/thunder

This is the fifth and final pre-release of Thunder for v0.2.1+12! This nightly fixes some issues introduced in the last pre-releases, and adds a few new features. The main focus for the upcoming ni...

GitHub
I actually did find and install the nightly version not long after making that comment. I still have it installed on my phone even now. I’m very satisfied with it so far, and have set github to notify me about new releases on the repo. Thanks for the reply.
No worries! If you ever find yourself missing a feature, feel free to check GitHub to see if that issue is mentioned and comment or vote on that so that it gets more visibility. If its not yet in GitHub, then creating a new issue there will help us track it down when we do eventually get to it!
Maybe this community isn’t the place to be promoting your app…
Liftoff shows.
It does not. I found no option to show downvotes when I used it for about a week or so. I reinstalled it just now to see if that changed and it hasn’t. Only way to see downvotes is to press the 3 dots on a post or a comment, press “nerd stuff” then press “counts” to see upvotes and downvotes. This is an annoying hassle to have to do on every comment and post, and there’s no option to just show it in the UI instead of 3 menus deep.

Settings > Post Style > Show Scores

Unless we’re talking about different things. Lol

I don’t think you understood me right. That option is on by default. It only shows upvotes when turned on, not upvotes and downvotes. Jerboa shows both in one place, Liftoff does not, regardless of whether that option is on or off.
Liftoff does not only show upvotes, but rather it shows a total “score” of the upvotes and downvotes. Number of downvotes is subtracted with the number of upvotes, which is the number you see. You can still see the number of downvotes by pressing the options menu > Nerd Stuff > Counts, but it sucks because you have to go through 3 steps to do it.
May as well show which users voted as well since this is publicly available.
OMG yes please, that would be really cool to know!
