Just saw this badge & my first thought was: "This is THE perfect badge for any other trans folks taking spironolactone!" 😅

@SleepyCatten

I'm legit asking here. Are you saying that if I chose to transition, I will have, at least for a period of time, less control over my mental facilities?

I'm not sure I have that much left to spare.

@Mendie_Taoma Not at all

Spironolactone is a drug that nobody has to take. There are viable alternatives to it.

The easiest way to avoid needing any anti-androgen is estradiol monotherapy, ideally using weekly enanthate or cypionate injections with MCT oil. If only valerate is available, then 5 days should be the maximum injection frequency.

Alternatively, GnRH agonists (blockers) are available, but are more pricey.

A cost-effective option for many is bicalutamide.

@SleepyCatten

In truth, I think I got as far as, being in the room of LGBT / Queer / Transgender - Non-Binary - Demigirl people,

And being absolutely pressed up against the inside wall, as a wallflower, watching everyone else dance.

@Mendie_Taoma *offers so many hugs*

If you ever do want some help to talk about this stuff, my DMs are always open here & on Discord

Alternatively, there's a safespace Discord server called The Orchard, where you can explore your gender identity & ask others about their own experiences.
