👋🏽 Former epidemiologist, current PhD student using models and data to better understand how infectious disease can be controlled and eliminated

@PieterPeach @famulare @enenbee @aetiology

@DrZoeHyde

I'd be interested to hear what criterion you apply for "trusted virologist".

@kbkorb someone who believes that infection with a virus is not a desirable outcome.

@PieterPeach

Aside from freak researchers who self-infect, are there any untrustworthy virologists?

I'd say virologists who believe infection is undesirable, but who believe their own gain-of-function research should be protected by lying about its dangers, should be considered untrustworthy.

@PieterPeach

I suggest to add @ViolaPriesemann from the Max-Planck-Institut für Dynamik und Selbstorganisation in Göttingen

Colorado School of Public Health did the COVID modeling for the state but I don't think that they're on Mastodon yet. Here's the team https://www.colorado-data.org/meet-the-team

@PieterPeach @famulare Here's my "master list" so far (3 posts, some replies, as I've found others):

It's not just epidemiologists and modellers, though, so you may have to drill down through to find those specifically.
