One of the weirder things right-wingers do is point to another culture they're usually extremely racist about and claim they don't have queer people, which "proves" queer identities are a "modern Western liberal degeneracy" that must be purged posthaste.

When, in fact, said culture inevitably has queer people in it. Because queer people are normal and everywhere.

White evangelical fascists wouldn't be so heavily funding and pushing anti-LGBT+ legislation and violence all over the world if that wasn't the case.

But this is one of those things where right-wingers are banking on the fact that Americans, for example, are poorly educated and ill-informed about the rest of the world so they can make up whatever claims they feel like.

Of course, it's meant to dovetail with the claim that only white people are queer, which is meant to turn LGBT+ rights into a wedge issue with POC, but which huge numbers of Black, indigenous, and other queer people would obviously dispute, if only people would listen to them.

Which is a very weird claim to make because according to the racists:

1) white people are obviously better than dark people
2) queer people are bad because ick
3) other races don't have queer people, but are still somehow worse than white people

Now, I know logical consistency is not a favored trait among these folks but still...

@bruce Oh, yeah. That's what I mean. It's an odd argument from them but they make it because they hate queer people so very much.
