“Cancel culture” is just what conservatives call “the free market” when it does something they don’t like.
@drahardja what do they call it when they boycott a beer brand, "hypocritical allowance".

@chaosrsa @drahardja
Boycotting something conservatives don't like: Voting with your wallet, civic duty, patriotic.

Boycotting something conservatives like: Cancel culture, western civilization in decline, should be illegal.

@jargoggles @drahardja no. Making something illegal because you don't like it is not freedom of the market place. It's forced market and authoritarianism.

@chaosrsa @drahardja
I agree with you and I agree that conservatives often try to outlaw things based on personal preference.

However, we're talking about boycotts, so I'm not sure this is totally relevant to the conversation.

@jargoggles @drahardja probably because I didn't understand what you where saying.

"Boycotting something conservative like.....could be illegal."
How else whas I supposed to read that?

@chaosrsa @drahardja
Ah, I was being satirical. Like, if you ask a conservative on the street their stance on boycotting something they don't like vs something they like and what their reaction would be.

@jargoggles @drahardja

I got it 🤦‍♂️.

I think I was thrown of by the like part. I just think to make it more accurate it's "like: racist, sexist, anti-Semitic and hunting the homeless for sport." Ok, maybe the homeless part is a bit too much. But I can see someone of the GOP actually say that.
