Is MPB.com reputable for lens buybacks? Their quote was higher than other sites for a lens buybacks & I'm considering it #photography #photographer

@ethanedward I've used them several times. It's true what they say, "I don't even bother with ebay these days".

I did _once_ get a dud lens off them (a 16-35mm that couldn't focus edges properly) which I only discovered after more than a fortnight had passed since it arrived, but apart from that, they've been excellent and convenient.

@xylophilist thanks! It looks like they have the Nikkor lens I'm eyeballing for significantly cheaper than nikonusa - are their like new lenses good enough to be worth trading in my current lens/getting the upgraded one for several hundred cheaper?

@ethanedward I think so.

I did something similar with my Fuji gear here - the kit 16-80mm is crap so I sent that off, got the as-new pricing quote on it, bought the 16-55 f/2.8 "as new" instead, got a cracker of a lens and saved a packet.

I've put a few orders through them over the last couple of years and they always seem fair in assessing what constitutes "as new" etc as a seller => confidence as a buyer too.
