There is always a looming fear of ridicule because of misused terminology or totally misunderstood concepts in my conlang documentation, I can feel it. I began to develop an unhealthy obsession with delving into so much theoretical linguistics articles until I gave up before I could write a single sentence with a sciency nuanced word in it.

#conlangs and #conlanger alike, how do you overcome with such fear?

@jirra Dance like no one is watching. I feel so lucky I started conlanging long before the internet was available. It was hard enough to meet my own standards and expectations, but at least I didn't have to deal with everyone else's.

Document your conlang as suits your needs. If people have questions, they can ask. Anyone who ridicules can go pound sand. There's not a Conlang Council that'll take away your pencils.

Learn the technical side at your own pace and to suit your conlanging needs.

@wm_annis "Dance like no one is watching" is a wonderful analogy, thanks.

It's easy to feel small and insignificant among the great docs and aspiring spiritful conlangers. I suddenly realize that I've been doing this as if it's for a show, not in the spirit of archiving and preservation. It takes the fun out of it and makes the act of documenting exhausting.

@jirra If you're not sure about terminology, just ask around. #Conlangers usually like to share knowledge and ideas, and even the old hands amongst us remember when we were starting off.
@PeteBleackley All in all, communication and sharing are the most correct answer to any form of knowledge dissemination. Even if some may decide to be an ass that day, nothing beats communication.
