Found a nice piece of software in my mastodon bookmarks. For the people which can live without a crispy sharp display ;)
It's part of #Debian #Bookworm and called cool-retro-term. There are many options for modding colors, over fonts (like Apple ][) or the jittering/burnin of the display.
The Github project you find here
https://github.com/Swordfish90/cool-retro-term
There is also a precompiled dmg for usage inside MacOS classic.

@Rp12Biker nah - don't need this... my eyes have the same filter if i don't use my glasses 😎
anyway - a wonderful piece!
@sternwarte 😅
You are totally right, but it's a nice thing to fake the access to a modern linux machine on an LCD at our open-door day in the museum.

@Rp12Biker: Did you notice this pun in its name and abbreviation?

Cool Retro Term = CRT = Cathode-Ray Tube?

And glad you like it. (I was slightly involved in its Debian packing.)

@xtaran Thanks for including it into Debian. This saves me from having to build the package by my own.

And no, I didn't notice that of course, thanks for the hint.

@Rp12Biker Be careful with this emulator. It might be working for low level tasks, but I faced some serious issues with e.g. SSH and so on. Don't use it for serious work.
@Rp12Biker Oh, and the last update is from January 2022. Just saying.
@helmutstrasser Thanks for the warning. But I don't plan to do critical things with it - I have none of them 😀 You mean in the direction ssh issues cause of old libs or other secure relevant/known problems?
@Rp12Biker Well, mainly crashes and glitches. But I really can't tell what causes them.
@Rp12Biker I am definitely stealing your terminal theme for my contemporary computer
