This law is horrifying. It doesn't just affect people under 18, although that’s bad enough. All "sexually oriented" material is now banned from libraries, for all persons. This covers any book that contains "representations or descriptions" of sexual intercourse, homosexuality, lesbianism, and even buttocks or breasts. If your book describes a breast or a bum, it's banned from libraries in Mississippi.

How many people noticed that Mississippi is attempting to make it impossible for minors to borrow *any* eBooks via library systems? https://bookriot.com/hoopla-overdrive-libby-now-banned-for-those-under-18-in-mississippi/

The article links to and uses the wrong text. It links & copies HB1341, which didn't pass, but is talking about 1315, which did.

The text and status of HB1341 (didn't pass) is here:
https://legiscan.com/MS/text/HB1341/id/2682019
You can see what they copied matches Section 2 (1) etc.

HB1315, which is the one the article names, and which passed, is here:
https://legiscan.com/MS/text/HB1315/id/2767725
In that same section (they're fairly similar), it has the critical change of saying
> [...] may offer digital or online resources or databases to minors only if [...]

Still bad, just a different flavor.
