nantucketlit@clitoris Not the best, but a very good and unique horror film is Society from 1989. There is one caveat with this movie: you have to watch it completely cold. Don't read anything about it, don't watch any trailers, don't look at any posters or stills. Trust me on this one.

As Above, So Below is a super underrated movie. It really kind of scared the shit out of me lol.

aeberbach@clitoris “best”? Pan’s Labyrinth. There is some genuine storytelling and art mixed in with the horror. Most SFX blood and porridge? Evil Dead. It’s not really my favourite genre.
calhoon2005My best would be the Thing (82) already mentioned here. I could highly recommend Event Horizon for some sci-fi horror.
