Since I'm seeing a new wave of people saying they plan to leave Twitter, you may like my browser tool that takes the zip file of your Twitter export and returns a zip file of a web site that lets people browse and search your tweets. You can just upload the files wherever you normally host html and it'll work just fine.

Twitter archiver

A simple, searchable, themeable archive of your public tweets

If they are 'planning', they'll stay.

You need no planning to leave twitter.
You just up and go.
You can go back to collect your belongings, like you explained, but you can just leave.
Leave now.
Not next week, perhaps, or some other time I feel like I want to be a responsible human.
You either see the shitshow twitter is and who's benefiting from it, and you find that repulsive and leave, or you're making pale excuses for not really giving a fuck about anything other than the precious number of followers and tweets and oh woe me I have to find all these good people again in another place.
These are shit excuses and people using them shit me to tears.
And that includes some people I hold in high regard, including Ketan Joshi and Van Badham for example.
Leave the fucking twitter you drongoes!

@PetraPanda @darius

As I've had to remind others elsewhere, this "leave it or you love it" attitude is pointless, obnoxious, and out of touch.

I'm there and I'm here too; there are still large useful communities who still rely on it, who still need help getting out, and frankly who are still doing good things there.

Take a clue from what marginalized people do all the time; we do our best to work with what's put upon us in the best way possible, which isn't always "abstinence"

@jrm4 @darius
That may be true,but in doing do, you are aiding fascism.
That is your choice too

@PetraPanda @darius

No you're not and it's a *stupid* thing to say.

That's so goddamn general as to be meaningless
