This talk of Mbappe to Arsenal doesn’t make sense to me.
I know he’s a “once in a generation” talent but I just don’t see how he’d fit in with what the Gunners are building. He’s the right age profile, but I don’t see him in this team.
What am I missing?
I’ll tell you what you are missing… delusion, and lots of it. I just can’t see us competing on a financial level with other teams.
Don’t get me wrong, I would love for us to be a in a position where we could sign a player of his caliber, but we aren’t quite there yet.
You are right. Rice is our big spend signing, and Kai + Timber are quality signings that won’t break the bank. They all fit our recent signings to a tee (young, talented, good character).
We realistically should be looking to get rid of players at this point, not spend more. It would be nice to offload Balogun, Pepe, Cedric, Sambi for decent fees to help us recoup some of the 200m we will spend this year.
I don’t see Partey leaving. No one will pay us the fee we will demand , except the Saudis and he shot that down. I’m still worried though as his legal troubles still lurk in the darkness.
I haven’t heard much about Tierney lately, so I’m curious what’s going on there. I’d like him to stay so we can have Timber play the inverted role on the right while Tierney bombs up and down the left.
While I was asleep, apparently the site was hacked. Luckily, (big) part of the lemmy.world team is in US, and some early birds in EU also helped mitigate this. As I am told, this was the issue: - There is an vulnerability which was exploited - Several people had their JWT cookies leaked, including at least one admin - Attackers started changing site settings and posting fake announcements etc Our mitigations: - We removed the vulnerability - Deleted all comments and private messages that contained the exploit - Rotated JWT secret which invalidated all existing cookies The vulnerability will be fixed by the Lemmy devs. Details of the vulnerability are here [https://lemmy.world/post/1293336] Many thanks for all that helped, and sorry for any inconvenience caused! Update While we believe the admins accounts were what they were after, it could be that other users accounts were compromised. Your cookie could have been ‘stolen’ and the hacker could have had access to your account, creating posts and comments under your name, and accessing/changing your settings (which shows your e-mail). For this, you would have had to be using lemmy.world at that time, and load a page that had the vulnerability in it.
@Astrealix congratulations to @poorlydrawnarsenal on getting engaged 👍
@Astrealix what did Bukayo do to EA Sports to deserve this?
