A few weeks ago, I was very surprised to receive an email that my story, “Two Hands, Wrapped in Gold,” had been nominated for a Hugo Award for Best Novelette. @sbdivya Yup. I did not get offered a place on the Hugo shortlist this year, but I'd already decided to decline it if offered—for exactly the same reasons you cite. Painful, but morally necessary.
