From Aug 3-6, I will play in Augsburger Friedensfest-Open (AFRO), Group A. This might probably not go too well, but I like to play up. It's easier to gain rating with a mediocre result against very good opponents, than with a very good result against mediocre opponents 😉😁
AFRO will be seven rounds Swiss, long TC, in four days, and it will probably be quite hot, like it was last year. Tough!
Next, from Aug 13-19, I will play Silberpokalturnier in Bad Aibling. Again, seven rounds Swiss, long TC, but only one game per day.
Unfortunately, I cannot play in Linz (AT) and Arco (IT) this year 😔
But Oct 26 - Nov 5, I will play in 26. OIBM again (= Offene Internationale Bayerische Meisterschaften) at Lake Tegernsee. Nine rounds Swiss, long TC, one game per day. I hope to have a good start so that I can play at least once on the first floor (Masters floor 😀).
I will do some opening prep in those variations where I found to get into problems in my last 2-3 tournaments. Looking forward to playing some exciting games, and also to meeting some of the nice people again whom I played last year 😀🍀♟
