@villares honestly, the images on their toots are not that important because they're only extra content to the text.

So, if they don't to have the work of adding text descriptions, they might as well toot without the images.

@madcap @arstechnica yep! the link "card" would fetch an image for those who can see it, and screen reader users wouldn't be bothered.

@arstechnica You're a huge journalistic operation - where's the accessibility here? The fediverse has a huge blind and partially sighted community, I'm *sure* you can extend yourselves to taking a minute extra per post to add alt text to your media. You should be setting an example here.
