Jeff McFaddenOne can call it climate change, or be more inclusive like I am and call it ecosystem catastrophe, but everyone but out-and-out lunatics knows we've broken nature. We've already killed well over half of everything - yes, really, over half of all wildlife which existed on Earth on my 25th birthday is gone today, through a combination of extinction and population collapse. Same with birds. I think bugs it's worse. Go drive in the country at night and - used to be the bugs would blind you. Not now.
RatDragonSeabird@JeffAndDonkeys Ecosystem catastrophe is a much more accurate and much less ignorable phrasing, which is definitely the reason we rarely see it used. They're banking on soft language and the short memory of society, and the illusion that the past and future are equally unchanging and unchangeable.
