That said, people are hard at work trying to figure out how to monetize the Fediverse or at least glom onto it in a way that they think could be profitable. Think of it like early-day NPR, where the money was provided by charitable listeners - until Ronald Reagan decided that public radio could accept advertising disguised as corporate support. We're an audience of 13 million, and someone thinks they can sell a product to that audience...
