@chip_blaster Unfortunately you would lose the posts, but not the followers / following.
You can create an account here, see how you like it and only then decide whether you want to actually migrate the account over.
Basically both servers (furs.social and packmates.org) would tell the rest of fediverse to migrate your followers over to the new account that you create here when you sign up.
