It's sad to see Bending Spoons lay off the final Evernote employees across the US and Chile.

I'm happy I ditched Evernote last month. #Evernote

Report: Have Evernote Laid Off All Final Staff?

Bending Spoons, owners of Evernote have allegedly gone through another round of layoffs. This comes in a secondary round of layoffs since acquisition.

@CodeMacLife were you able to find a good replacement for #Evernote? Every time I tried to switch in the past, I’ve kept coming back to Evernote. I really wanted to like #Notion, but it seems overly complicated for what I need. Apple Notes is actually pretty good and I find myself using it sporadically. But I hate the idea of my notes being trapped in the #Apple ecosystem in case I switch back to #Android in the future.

@abalikai Yes. In my recent blog post on Medium, I mention how I use Upnote now. I also have Apple Notes for personal things like receipts and home-related notes.

@abalikai I’ve tried a lot of note-taking apps. AmpleNote is my favourite but I need to save my money.
@CodeMacLife @abalikai Suggest you take a look at UpNote, blazing fast sync across devices ( Apple, Windows, mobile, Linux, etc) . Very easy to share links with non users too. Support markdown and back links
@fuzzygel @abalikai I have it. It’s amazing. I use it mostly for blog writing and coding.
@CodeMacLife #AmpleNote looks pretty good. Thanks for the recommendation! Doesn’t look like it has a macOS app, but the web version may suffice.
@abalikai It’s a web app (PWA) with offline access to your files. The web clipper is pretty cool too.
@CodeMacLife anyone out there ever find a good replacement for Skitch on macOS? It still works even after Evernote purchased and sunset it, but with the most recent round of layoffs I’m in the market for an able replacement again 🤔.
@abalikai Something like Flameshot, which is open source and cross platform? https://flameshot.org/
Flameshot

Flameshot is a free and open-source, cross-platform tool to take screenshots with many built-in features to save you time.

Flameshot
@CodeMacLife woah, I’ll check this out. One feature I love about Skitch is that I can create a new file directly from the macOS clipboard with Command+V. 🤞Flameshot can too. Thanks!!
@abalikai You’re welcome. I remember using on Linux but I haven’t used it in Mac yet.
