This is not a bad idea.

The #AI horse has left the barn, and so has the fact that the vast majority of the public has given up the rights to all of the stuff they've posted online over the years, blithely ignoring the unknown future risks and implications of doing so.

This way the people who actually provide all this content get at least paid a few scraps for all that free labor.

@timokissel In the old days (when home taping was killing music) someone floated the idea of a tape tax that would be disbursed between songwriters. It didn’t get very far. This reminds me of that. Maybe the time is finally right.
