All hope for the return to a rational America went out the window with the GOP destroying not only the public educational system but the private/religious one as well, and not just K-12 but higher education too. 54% of the US population now reads at below the 6th grade level and 18% are functionally illiterate. Universities are little more than giant sports complexes dedicated to bringing in TV revenue.
