For funsies, I've been poking at Mastodon vs Twitter in the same way, and I've come to the conclusion that even though I've only got 6k here vs 20k on Twitter, there's a very real possibility I have more "effective" reach here than I did there.
Like true virality as possible here, probably not, but the degree to which that happened was rare, almost always on bullshit I didn't particularly care if anyone saw, and its actual impact on marketing or anything measurable outside of Twitter Numbers was. Mmm. Debatable.
I've had 2 posts blow up on Mastodon:
One, a heartfelt and well-spoken post on the dangers that federating with Meta's instances would pose to LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and other minority communities.
And the other, a gif of a cat farting on infrared camera.
I could hardly ask for better reach here. 😋
