Heads up to everyone walking and wheeling in #OldStrathcona this weekend that #yegArtWalk is on, so sidewalks will be crowded and mobility lanes are blocked. #yegBike #yegTraffic
Since some of the bike parking will be out of reach try one of these new bike racks if you spot them. (They aren't just for hanging art.) #yegBike
Vehicle parking will be, of course, minimally affected.
I'd love it if the City could work with festivals to create more of a boardwalk boulevard, maximizing the sidewalk space we already have and using even more of the streets for fun. Kind of like we have on 83 Ave and the Strathcona Back Street.
But, regardless of how you get here, you can check out hundreds of artists across the Whyte Ave core, and farmers' market block, this weekend. Oh! And don't forget about FoundFest at the Backstage Theatre, and other spots, and Grindstone's Comedy Festival down on 81 Ave. in West Ritchie. #yegArts #yegFestivals #yegSummer
Plus, there's fresh paint on Rainbow Road, on Whyte beside Malt & Mortar, and a new Metis crosswalk on 101 Street at 81 Avenue. Check those out, and the 70+ murals, while you're here!
