I’m not saying embrace debate, but there’s an opening for platforms that want to cater to breaking news and politics. To ignore the audience that wants that from its Twitter replacement seems silly and not well thought out.

#twitter #threads

Mosseri says they won’t “down-rank” news content.
@zuriberry @rolle Meta only wants to have light entertainment. They retrain their users to only be successful when they use certain topics. Meta is only about entertainment it’s not for deep thinkers. They want to create a platform where people get dopamine hits that’s it. Threads will wear off and as they don’t understand the true nature of what Twitter was they will never appeal to the intellectuals.
@TheQueensMindset @rolle I agree with you. But I’d add that they’re not hiding it. Just a few moments ago, Zuckerberg said they’re trying to do something different than Twitter that is more successful than it ever had been. The implication was that relying on news and politics ruined Twitter, which is just shallow and dishonest. They don’t want discussion or incisive commentary. They want quips and jokes. It’s all for fun over there.
