"Pain point" is one of the worst business brain words to exist. Some person in a meeting once had the thought "How can I say the word "problem" but make it more annoying?" and said that word out loud. Instead of being labeled a charlatan, they hoisted them up by their seat and started chanting "Pain point! Pain point!" and now it's everyone's problem
@kirkmanbrandon I encountered this hell-phrase at a part-time office supply retail job as one of its training materials and I gotta say, it was weird then, too!
@Ferrovore It's like the avatar of neo-lib energy. I don't know how to explain this but I know it's true!
@kirkmanbrandon I know it definitely rang hollow to me because they kept using fancy-ass business terminology about a copy center which remained understaffed pretty much always. Like bud I am not going to do anything other than making people's jobs in a quality way with the tools you give me, you do not pay me enough to play weird mind games.
@Ferrovore It's always the badly paying jobs that love this kind of business lingo the most haha
@kirkmanbrandon oh man i've been in the software industry too long. i think of this phrase as normal
@wolfteeth I am also used to it but I will never accept it into my family of words hahaha
