CarrelI’ve been on Threads for most of today and what I really LOVE about it is that I was able to quickly connect with friends, companies, search and quickly find people I wanted to follow. I came here when Musk blocked Tweetbot. I like what I see here but I just haven’t fully grasped the benefits of decentralization 🤷🏾♂️ I’m not going to delete my account but I certainly won’t be on here much unless something changes.
Eric Dannewitz@Carrel Keep in mind that they are, like they usually do, mining your data. YOU are the product. Your information. What and who you are following. What you post. And they will monetize you.
On a "true" Mastodon server we don't do that. No ads. No tracking of what or who you are following.
So.....whatever works for you. Seems like they haven't Federated yet, or if they have, they are doing it just to themselves (I can't seem to follow a threads account).....which is typical...
