Then and now.
An old 1950s (?) image of Cleobury Mortimer in Shropshire brought up to date with the equivalent view in 2023.
I was able to find almost the exact spot where the original was taken from which meant it was fairly straightforward to combine the 2 images in GIMP.

@Sbectol No, it's the old railings in front of the church. There was a railway which closed in the 1960s but the station was about a mile out of town, it apparently used to take freight down from quarries to the GWR in the Severn Valley.

Not at the moment, I saw the original on a local FB group, and being about 100 yerds away from my house, and looking straight up the road, I thought it would be quite easy, which it was :)
I'll look out for some more old photos, I believe there's an archive somewhere, and see what I can come up with!

@uk_csi ahhh, you live in town too :) We are on the High Street. I did find an old one featuring our house, but it’s not very good quality.
