@badgersaurus It's pretty hard to find shitposting accounts from this instance because of the way that the fediverse works. Probably not many people here follow shitposting/ meme accounts so this instance doesn't federate with instances where they are active.

The best way to get it is to look for an instance that does a lot shitposting, copy some user names and paste it into the search bar. Once you follow the account, we'd be federated and you can get more shitposting posts.

@ubi God I don’t think I’ll ever wrap my head around this fediverse crap. I like to think I’m somewhat tech-savvy (I made my own website from scratch after all!) but I guess not and it turns out every single guide abt this stuff saying that it doesn’t matter which instance you pick was wrong, actually, and I picked the wrong one (again!) Just my luck ig. Thank you for the help though <3

@badgersaurus There definitely needs to be a better guide to all of this. I only recently figured it out when I realised that there was so much stuff going on that I couldn't see.

Instances really do matter for your experience on the Fediverse. What you do see really depends on which instances your home instance federates with.

This one in particular is mainly for academics, so definitely you'd see it skewed towards more serious content (with a few hobby posts in between).
