@ProcessParsnip We can still find wild chickens in Asia, they are called Red Jungle Fowl. Small, fast birds with very striking colors. This one flew up a tree when I was near it.

@curiocritters I've never seen a grey jungle fowl before. Only red ones here in the south.

But they are really nice attractive birds. It's a shame that we treat their species as cheap protein now.

@ubi everything we use in our day to day lives has its place in nature - the ultimate #genebank of #everything!

We domesticated the Red Jungle #fowl, from which all modern 'breeds' of poultry were derived.

But their ancestors still haunt the wilds of #asia.

Long live the #wild!
