Also all corporate sites sell your data and use your data to make money for the owners. I'd rather pay to an admin nearby and the developers. Furthermore, the decentralized nature here allows to meet people online that may also be reachable in real life (in case you are on a regional server). 1/2

However, right-wing discourse poisoning efforts have more money and impact that we do. So every political group should rather aim for federated approaches that cannot be controlled by one guy.2/2
