I re-read Cory Doctorow's excellent blog about "enshittification" today, and I realised that I've been seeing this process everywhere recently. Pretty much the entire internet is somewhere on the enshittification path now, apart from here on the Fedi

Once you get used to not seeing ads any more they stand out so much when you go somewhere else, and I absolutely hate them

A better way is possible, this place proves it

@COMPU73E Yup, I saw that when I jumped from Tweetbot to regular Twitter app. Years without ads made a difference and when I had to use official app, I was tired after one day. Same with Facebook, I can’t even remember any post I saw there in recent days as 99% are ads and some bull**it recommendations I couldn’t care less about. Trying to get used to Fedi now, we’ll see how it’ll work. But regular social apps are just trash now.
@cal yeah, the difference is so obvious when I check other sites now. it takes a bit of time to get used to the Fedi, but I found just posting about stuff I'm into and replying to people and being friendly soon starts to pay off 😃
