There are already *a ton* of UK companies, organisations, newspapers, celebrities, etc. with accounts here out of the box, all blue-tick-verified. Quite a good starting base. #Threads
After following one (popular) account, my Home feed suddenly showed me a list of random influencers. Potentially annoying, I thought. Then I followed more accounts closer to my interests, and the feed started transforming to recommend me more of the same. So it's pretty strongly algorithmic. #Threads
Some missing things becoming apparent already: alt text, post search (currently account search only), translate option on posts.
T&Cs (yes I read them) said something about "AI accessibility text" so sounds like that's coming at least. #Threads
No DMs either. Perhaps they'll be adding these into Messenger like with Instagram?
And already the hate accounts are descending on it. LibsOfTikTok, GaysAgainstG******s, and a small swarm of trolls all spewing transphobia at trans accounts. Have reported all for hate speech. Big test for their moderation. #Threads
Rolling Stone account already at 50k followers in 3 hours—the same as their follow count here. Safe to say the numbers on the doors here are impressive. #Threads

Starmer just joined, shortly after Humza Yousaf and a slew of other (mostly Labour) MPs and councillors. Can't be long until Sunak and other Tories arrive (sigh). Only Twitter rival to get such accounts AFAIK. #Threads
