Most readers fall for headline saying "xyz got destroyed for saying <nonsense>", we won't click thrua well worded criticism of the statement. Most folks enjoy one line take down( or meme) than lengthy article. Unfortunately journalism isn't commercially viable. As we are lacking attention span beyond one or two sentences.
