Tragically, after leading him on for hours, my scammer ghosted me.
@atheistengineer Extremely well done!! TY for sharing. I've gotten these before via email, but this is the first text version I've seen. All the best to you.
@atheistengineer This is the one good use of ChatGPT I have heard about. People have rigged it to talk to scammers and keep them going for hours.

@not2b @atheistengineer

Had an email variant who claimed to be a casual acquaintance. Boiled to: "I'm me! Honest!" "I don't believe you." "Really! Cross my heart!"
🤦

@cavyherd @atheistengineer The most common Facebook scam is to clone someone's page (if the person's profile and friends list is public), send friend requests to all of the victim's friends, and try conning the friends later to help with an "emergency".

@not2b @atheistengineer

Had this joker try this on me over email. Mighta hooked me if it had been $10 or $25, but he asked for $400, & I was all, "Dude, even if you *are* who you claim, you don't know me remotely well enough to ask for a 'loan' of $400."

@atheistengineer I keep sending them pictures of tiny rubber ducks in honor of James Veitch. They are always angry for some reason.
@atheistengineer aww, poor Not Paul, not getting those Apple gift cards like he wanted. And he was so (not) convincing too!
@atheistengineer
That last message was great lol!
@atheistengineer ā€œI’m terrible with names.ā€ Haha
