Since mstdn.social decided to block #Threads before launch, I am canceling my Patreon subscription to the server and plan to move instances ASAP.

UPDATE: I will be on Threads tomorrow. I will maintain this account, at least temporarily, until my server's EU host determines next steps.

@foforivera to me, it defeats the entire purpose of this platform to ban entire servers before they have even launched. It's a gross overreaction.

@joshgammon Don't forget mstdn.social is hosted in the Netherlands which is part of the EU- which is not allowing Threads. I certainly don't know what or if this legally has an effect on federating with them or not- but I can certainly understand a wait and see or cautious attitude. Sounds more like he is waiting for more information rather than ruling it out entirely forever.

@notthatkaren But this isn't “wait and see.” This is “block now, figure out later.” I would wait for guidance before acting at all.
