I went to the website of 303 Creative, the Colorado web designer that made up an imaginary gay couple who could conceivably ask them to design a wedding website so 303 could sue and legalize discrimination.

I thought this was interesting. They are asking for tolerance.

Irony is dead.

@Litzz11

wow, tone-deaf, much?

@iuculano Just plain ol' clueless. These Evangelical bigots live in a world where only THEY have rights. THEY get to tell everyone else what to do.
@Litzz11 I just plotzed.
@GottaLaff The hubris to think YOU deserve tolerance but others do not is unbelievable.
@Litzz11 Also not surprised their design sensibilities are trash.
@irwin @Litzz11 I don't have a web designer's eye; could you explain exactly how shitty this website is?

@scallopede @Litzz11

The tendency to center all text areas is known pejoratively in graphic design as "tombstoning" (which is one of the few places where this kind of typography is acceptable). Centering large blocks of text makes it more difficult to read. Overall inattention to line length and centering of all the text on the page demonstrates an ignorance and disdain for typography. Also not capitalizing headlines is something you outgrow after high school.

@irwin @scallopede @Litzz11 Thank you for those insights. I never gave the site layout a second glance, but now I see it. I can't unsee it
@Litzz11
She’s obviously unfamiliar with Karl Popper’s Paradox of Tolerance
@timbell @Litzz11 It's not even a paradox in this case. If there's a right not to do business with folks whose behavior you object to, that applies to customers who don't want to work with a web designer whose actions they object to at least as much as it applies to the web designer who doesn't want to work with hypothetical clients whose actions they object to.
@Litzz11 "Treat everyone with respect", well, unless you're gay apparently.
@Litzz11 Definitely ironic, she needs to do a self assessment.
@Litzz11 Lorie Smith literally made it all up for attention and to try feel victimized - it's really sad, and she's feeding off of the attention. She has some mental issues for sure ☹️
@Litzz11
What I find particularly infuriating is that there are easy ways in which she could have avoided working with anyone outside her own little circle of bigotry without suing for a license to discriminate against people who are part of a protected category for good reason: work only with couples being married by pastors of her choice; work only by reference from prior clients and/or pastors of her choice; work only with couples being married at churches of her choice...
@PragmatistProf @Litzz11 Or how about this: “I’m sorry, I’m completely booked. While I appreciate the inquiry, I have a very full client list right now, and I don’t have the bandwidth to take on anyone else.”
@PragmatistProf But that would miss the point. Don't you know who Evangelicals are? They're fanatic cultists who aren't content to just live their own pathetic bigotry, they want everyone ELSE to be just as pathetically bigoted as they are.
@Litzz11 “Disagree civilly.” “Treat others with politeness.”
All while saying “You queer people are inferior because my religion says so and thus, even acknowledging that queer relationships exist is deeply offensive to my God and He will send me to hell unless I discriminate against you.”
Someone fucking DDOS thier site or something
@Litzz11 So many people on the Fuckaround Express are shocked to learn its only stop is Findoutville.

@Litzz11 You may also note that the "To The Media" box sends the reader to the Alliance Defending Freedom group. Which is, to no great surprise, an anti-LGBTQ hate group.

https://www.splcenter.org/news/2020/04/10/why-alliance-defending-freedom-hate-group

Why is Alliance Defending Freedom a Hate Group?

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) first listed Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) as an anti-LGBTQ hate group in 2016.

@Litzz11
My personal deity, Thog The Unreasonable, likes to hit bigots with his big club and then laugh at them.

That's not my opinion. Thog thinks that tolerance with bigots is a hilarious idea.

@Litzz11 i thought she doesn't actually have a business operating.
@qualityhammer She has a business. There wasn’t a gay couple wanting to use her services but she has a web design business.
@Litzz11 no, she didn't actually have a functional business.
@Litzz11 why won’t people stop being so intolerant of my beliefs 😢

@Litzz11

#303creative tries to piss in your face. Complains you won't open your mouth.

@Litzz11
Typical arrogant hypocrisy. Only they can be victims.
@Litzz11
At best, astonishing lack of self awareness. At worst, brazen gaslighting.
@JaneGray When it comes to religious fanatics, the safest bet is to assume the worst.
@Litzz11
I'm inclined to agree.
@Litzz11 MAGA is always the victim. Just ask them.
