After reading many posts after the #introductions and some of the frustrations of people leaving Mastodon, one of the leading reasons was access to journalists. I've taken @tchambers 's journalist tracker google doc and converted it to the simple followers import format. Edit your profile, select Import/Export->Import, and upload to directly add 1000+ journalists. File here:

@aoalfred @tchambers that's an incredibly useful tool. I wish i had these sorts of directories for more industries. I'll probably cull most as I don't need local weather from Louisville for example. But much easier to do that here
@guacamayan @aoalfred @tchambers Academics on Mastodon have these sorts of directories set up on a discipline by discipline basis. Though unlike the journalist one, ours are specifically opt-in, so only those academics who’ve explicitly asked to be on the lists are included.
