I liked the Indy movie, I’m sure the discourse around it is very stupid but it entertained me enough. The cinematography was my only quibble; it was a very dark movie (visually, not tonally) and that seems off for the franchise. It’s weird to be in the target audience for nostalgia bait. I’m so used to everything having been made for boomers.
@anildash wasn’t the first indie movie already nostalgia bait for boomers

@anildash Really? I honestly kind of feel bad for kids these days since I feel like XEnnials like me have had endless nostalgia. Transformers, She-Ra, Infinity Gauntlet, X-Men, Star Wars, Ghost Busters, Star Trek, etc. Growing up I don't remember quite so much feeling like I was living in my parents' nostalgia besides Addams Family movies and a stack of Beatles records.

Then again, my kid was shocked to learn that She-Ra was a reboot of a gen X show.

@anildash you either die a bitter millennial or live long enough to see yourself becoming a boomer.

Alternative take: you're the boomer now.

@anildash precisely my experience as an “elder GenXer” … 70% of my childhood was saturated with Boomer backwash. From reruns on tv to “Woodstock 89” etc.
