Permaculture Systems Design.
Permaculture is growing in popularity, which is a great thing. Regenerative and sustainable practices are required for us as we move into the future. What I am seeing though, is with the surge of so many bloggers and youtubers of various levels of experience talking about permaculture is the genericification (yah, I made the word up) of permaculture principles. I am seeing all kinds of permaculture posts showing up in my feeds because of sponsored ads and everyone seems to be posting the same exact type of guild images and food forest lingo and plants and pictures. While in the midwest where I am that type of planting is wonderful, I am hearing a big disconnect for folks who live in fire zones who say there is no way I could plant that densely all around trees near my house because…forest fires. They feel that permaculture is not for them because it literally is being shared to them as something that is the opposite of what they need to do to protect their home from fire.
