@deadtom basically a few days ago something happened on twitter where users were severely limited on how many tweets they could view. Elon said it was a new temporary policy, but others say it was due to backend issues on the platform. Either way it prompted people to start searching for alternatives which led to quite a few new mastadon users, including myself.
