@dangillmor @nelson I will happily greet Threads users when they arrive. Sure, the Threads app will probably use keywords or semantic analysis to insert ads for those people who use it, but *I* won’t get any, which is fine by me.

Of course, knowing Facebook, they’ll do their best to try to associate my Mastodon account with other data they have about me, but is that really a surprise?
