So after days and days of coverage including multiple newspaper front pages, BBC now reports that Nigel Farage

1. Didn't lose his Coutts banks account because of his views, but because his balance was too low.
2. Admits being offered alternative account with Natwest, but hasn't taken it up

"Mr Farage told the BBC he did not dispute the fact he did not meet Coutts' threshold"

Nigel Farage bank account shut for falling below wealth limit

Nigel Farage's account with the bank Coutts is not being closed for political reasons, the BBC is told.

So we've had an entire news cycle based on this non-story, including ministers speaking out about it in Parliament and major newspapers splashing it on their front page and it was all based on Farage having a strop about not being rich enough to keep his elite bank account.

Just absurd.

@adambienkov
I can't help thinking the bigger story here is that a so-called anti-establishment anti-elite guy had been privileged enough to have an account with Coutts. Just ask any "real people" leave voters, how many of them actually know someone who got a Coutts account, let alone they have one themselves.
