Accidental Tech Podcast: ATP Tier List: Every iPhone

Three nerds discussing tech, Apple, programming, and loosely related matters.

@atpfm How can the iPhone 11 rank so much higher than XR when the outsides are the same phone?? Same 720 LCD and everything, just the 11 has two cameras. 11 is the XR with a better marketing name!

Remember, they bumped the price to $1000 and the XR was the way to get the same experience as the X for $700. And it was also the one reviewers said everyone should have gotten. Solid B. C at the least.

iPhone 5C def belongs in F tier. The world has spoken, nobody bought it. One-off done dead!

@phongg @atpfm I came here to say exactly this. iPhone 11 is basically iPhone XRS. It was the third year for that design of phones (2nd with LCD), giving departure to the "S" moniker on the higher phones.

The simple naming of iPhone 11 allowed to sneak by unscathed, while the iPhone XR automatically got grouped with the 5C because the name was inconsistent with rest of iPhone releases.

@phongg @atpfm The naming should have been as follows:

iPhone X > iPhone X Pro
iPhone XR > iPhone XS
iPhone XS > iPhone XS Pro
iPhone XS Max > iPhone XS Pro Max

The would've given those phones alignment with the 11 and later in both name and price.
