@mjvalente Well, yeah, sort of. 🙃 What you provided was more like meta data? It doesn't give any information about what is actually in the picture, why you posted it, why it makes you wonder whether to laugh or be concerned. So, while it is by some definition an image description, it still excludes those who cannot see or visually interpret the picture.
Good news is you can edit posts, including image descriptions, & every new pic posted is a new chance to practice image description. 🌼
@mjvalente Aw, thank you. It's not supposed to be anxiety inducing. People have varying ability—some can't do image descriptions bc of their own limitations and that's OK. IDs don't have to be super detailed either. A little is better than nothing.
You can follow @PleaseCaption to get a reminder if you forget, & if you can't do it in the moment, acknowledging that in the post (eg "travelling, will add description later") or asking for help (some use # Alt4Me for this) goes a long way too.
This is very cool. Thank you for the explanation and advice. And I’ll try not to stress… much. (But, I do like a good challenge.)
@herzleid I bet it will do the same for me (re: the thinking).
Alas, for some reason I’m not able to follow the @pleasecaption account.
