The fact that far too many people cannot recognize fascism unless it looks exactly like Nazi Germany is very dangerous.
@Strandjunker like if we slip bit by bit into it, it’s not happening at all. Citizen idjits.
@Strandjunker most people could probably recognize it if it looked like Mussolini's Italy too. Probably.

Oh, who am I kidding.
@Strandjunker TBH, at this point,I have the feeling that a lot of people would not recognize facism EVEN if it looked like nazi germany... :/
@Strandjunker Also dangerous is their apparent inability to recognize fascism when it DOES look exactly like Nazi Germany.
@Strandjunker
Completely agree, the march to #fascism started with #Reagan or before, but really accelerated under Dubya.
@Strandjunker They've just practiced some good old-fashioned rationalization of their beliefs, or as I prefer to think of it, as delusional.
@Strandjunker and still disingenuously deny it even when it does look exactly like Nazi Germany 😒
@Strandjunker Whew! Glad that doesn't apply to me! I know that fascism only applies to Musolini's Italy!
@Strandjunker The fact that nobody can recognise fascism when it looks *exactly* like Nazi Germany is keeping me awake at nights.
@Strandjunker nor seem to care even when it looks almost exactly like Nazi Germany.
@Strandjunker
If it doesn't come from the Fasci region of Italy, it's actually just sparkling authoritarianism.
@Strandjunker It looks pretty close to the start of Nazi Germany. Some of these people should have clued in by now (glaring at you, Florida Republicans).
@Yup_Its_Holly @Strandjunker “It won’t get me.” Until it does.
@Strandjunker agreed. What’s even more perplexing is how literal self declared Nazi’s will March along side these folks with the flags and banners and they still don’t recognize it. Supposedly. 😵‍💫

@Strandjunker

This is why Hitler purged the Brownshirts in 1934. They were radical revolutionaries at a time when he wanted to project an image of a respectable Germany, to keep big business on side.

@Strandjunker there is a specific definition of fascism.

For example in the UK, many on the left are crying "fascists". It is as inaccurate as it is unhelpful. Popularist, racist rhetoric is not fascism

@Strandjunker because it was underlined that only they were facism. Underlining same problems and indications elsewhere were quite dangerous for those in power in West and Soviet Russia.
@Strandjunker this is why you won't hear any mainstream politcian tauting universal human rights, because that leaves too many uncomfortable questions on table.
@Strandjunker Seeing fascism everywhere is equally dangerous ('Boy Who Cried "Wolf!"').
