Spoke with my son (software developer) the other day. He mentioned that because Google has dumped him for non-payment, he doesn't have enough servers left to throttle up the feeds.

Reported that they were offloading data from Google Cloud but failed to complete the transfer before the end of the contract

Also reported that the "data scraping" which somehow led to the limits he imposed was actually a new bit of Twitter software that was pinging the servers at an extreme rate - like DDOS attack. Self-inflicted!

And yep…he cut off access to Twitter from anyone without an account on Friday — I assume because he didn’t have the bandwidth on the servers he had left. Then he lied and said he was limiting posts due to “data scraping” which was just silly. Then the remaining servers were beaten up (DDos) by everyone trying to access from inside and outside of Twitter. It was a fustercluck. But also kinda expected, because he’s nuts. 🤷♀️
