Do you remember your first doll or teddy? This was mine, I can’t remember her name but I do remember cutting her hair. 😬 .
@CatherineRussell2 yes, she had a soft body and floppy arms and legs, her name was Holly
@CatherineRussell2 I do. It was a stuffed toy, a dog, called Kalle. I don’t have photos of it bc my mother has hogged all of my childhood pictures and I’ll only get them once she’s dead. But I do remember what he looked like.
@CatherineRussell2
Yes, mine is a panda, I was 4 when he was knitted by lady next door. Still got him, sitting on my bed.
@CatherineRussell2 you really are the image of your mum.
@CatherineRussell2 My grandad bought me my first doll for my first Christmas. And it's head used to fall off quite a lot. My grandad used to say it had been down the pub.
@CatherineRussell2 I’m not sure if I still have them, I was very much into rabbits. I had a fluffy toy one and a rag one. The rag one has my name on in laundry marker so I could take it to school.
@CatherineRussell2 "Marilyn" & "Wendy", the latter American & rather the worse for wear but both safely in the loft! Lovely photo.
@CatherineRussell2 I do. It was grey with a wonky nose and a gold chain round its neck, it's since disappeared
@CatherineRussell2 Yes mine came from America in 1950. You could feed her and she wet her nappy! She came in her own suitcase with outfits to wear. I thought it was wonderful. Sadly she didn’t come with me to boarding school (aged 9 ) I had a monkey instead!
@CatherineRussell2 To this day I don't know who thought up the idea of giving me a bride doll to play with. Firstly, I wasn't interested and secondly I was and still are a tomboy. Didn't have time to play with it as I lived on a farm and then moved to live on a lake near the beach. Played outdoors more than indoors and always had someone to entertain myself with. Now a teddy may have worked. Was never given the chance to find out. Have & still are loving my life. I wouldn't change a thing. 🥰
