To anyone thinking about joining BlueSky, especially artists: everything you post is sent to a third party for AI labeling.

BlueSky uses AI to label content for moderation, and to do that they use a company called https://thehive.ai. If you look through their privacy policy, you will see that they can use content sent to them to train models for all their services, which include generative AI for both text and images.

@FluffyDeveloper I joined honestly just to follow activist, but yeah the centeralized stuff is annyoing. I honestly want to see what federation will bring.

@FluffyDeveloper I get this AI nonsense can still exist, but honestly there is likely some AI scrapper trying to get data from fedi while pretending to be a real instance

@skymtf Possibly, but for BlueSky there is only one instance and the behaviour is baked into it, with no way for users to opt out. At least with fedi you can move to another server and the instance can be banned by others.

@FluffyDeveloper yeah for now, I am hoping in the future other instances will block this behavior much like we do here. I don't dislike AT though I like activitypub better. the main feature I like of AT is better idenity handling and I think Activitypub should take notes
