“Elon must be destroying the site on purpose he can’t be that stupid!” Last week a billionaire imploded, literally, because he thought he could outsmart the laws of physics. Never being told “no” makes a person stupid.

@drskyskull

True. It's not just kids that need limits, grown-ups too.

@angelastella @drskyskull fortunately everyone on twitter now has a limit, society is healing

@drskyskull TBF, these things will chew on a narcissist's brain rather easily -- fossil fuels overweighted, an investor with conflicted interests, corrupt investors, and several with overlapping and likely conflicting interests.

Oh, and the ex-wife he married and divorced twice. https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-ex-wife-texts-fighting-twitter-woke-ism-report-2022-10

Musk's ex-wife texted him to fight Twitter 'woke-ism': report

"Can you buy Twitter and then delete it, please!?" Riley allegedly texted Elon Musk on March 24. "America is going INSANE."

@drskyskull How are there still people who believe this schmuck is gonna get them to Mars?
@peepstone Well, his companies could if he lets them be and doesn't micromanage like he obviously is with tweeter. But... lol

@peepstone

SpaceX does solid work. No thanks to him, though: I think the disastrous lack of flame diverters at Boca Chica stems directly from his orders.

@angelastella
Gwynne Shotwell literally walks around behind him at SpaceX and tells staff not to do what Elmo just told them to do
@peepstone

@hobs @peepstone

That's vital work in such an unforgiving environment.

@hobs @angelastella @peepstone
Do you have sources?
Genuinely asking so I can use it.
@AstridSawatzky
Can't remember where I read it. Perhaps wired magazine. Was at least 8 months ago from a disgruntled ex employee. Will do some searching.
@angelastella @peepstone
Elon Musk’s No. 2 at SpaceX Does Damage Control

For years, many investors and employees at Space Exploration Technologies have regarded the company’s No.2 executive, Gwynne Shotwell, as the adult in the room at the boundary-pushing rocket company founded by Elon Musk. Her acolytes have lauded Shotwell’s ability to translate her visionary boss ...

The Information

@AstridSawatzky
Sorry for #paywall. Here's the key bit before the paywall:
""""
Respect for Shotwell has run so deep at the company—better known as SpaceX—that some longtimers have a saying: They work for Gwynne, not Elon.

Lately, though, Shotwell’s handling of employee concerns about Musk’s conduct has put that admiration to the test.

@angelastella @peepstone

@angelastella @peepstone People who think he's handcrafting rocket engines while also spending every hour agreeing with fascists on his hellsite are completely divorced from reality.
@peepstone ...or put a chip into your brain 😬
@drskyskull Occam's razor still makes me think Musk is just a spoiled man baby that is unintentionally piloting that ship to the bottom of the sea. But, part of me wonders if it isnt all more insidious than that. Happening so suddenly will make it have an impact on elections
@DanielTuttle
He's being pushed in that direction by Xi who has his China Tesla plant by the balls. He'd do anything to keep Xi happy. It's now generating more revenue than all his other plants (Norway and US) combined, despite chip sanctions against China & Russia. Remember when he literally sabotaged the Sky Link terminals on the front lines in Ukraine? Generals contradicted him when he claimed unpaid Defense Dept bills as the reason. And he was selective in his sabotage.
@drskyskull
@drskyskull Since Elno Mush is the rare kind of Billionaire who makes much of his thoughts and whims very public, it's actually quite easy to believe that yes, he really is that level of stupid.

@stewosch @drskyskull

I've seen various conspiracy theories. They're not impossible.

But I reckon the most likely explanation is that he is indeed that level of stupid.

@stewosch
Except his most notorious tweets seem to come along side a bunch of tankie tweets backing him up. Somehow his boobery has only made Twitter better and better for tankies and misinformation
@drskyskull
@hobs @stewosch @drskyskull I wonder how the Tankies feel about 600 tweets a day. Or the web client DDOSing itself.
@fishidwardrobe
Good point. But with no limit on verified tankie sock puppet accounts it might work out for them.
@stewosch @drskyskull
@drskyskull imagine signing up for Mars on something that fella is responsible for😂
@PaulRussell @drskyskull Well, there’s already been a visionary like that who revolutionized deep submarine dives… I guess, we’re heading for Mars now.

@drskyskull

"He may look like an idiot and talk like an idiot but don't let that fool you. He really is an idiot."

@drskyskull I do think his Saudi backers and others have more sinister intentions behind wanting Twitter destroyed - preventing dissidents and revolutionaries from spreading their message, preventing people from coordinating, etc. However, I think that can work in tandem with using this stupid mfer as the blunt instrument.
@millennialmaureen @drskyskull Seems Elmo is the perfect illustration of the "useful idiot", though competition is strong these days. Instructors in counter intelligence will have no shortage of cases to teach on that subject.

@drskyskull

The destruction of Twitter look way more like the result of random moronic decisions than something being done on purpose.

@drskyskull I told my boss at a "startup" (they had been trying to start up for something like a decade with little to show for it) no once. He fired me within 2 weeks to make sure we didn't have to hear it again.
@drskyskull @lisamelton Eh. Weren’t they told “no” and then fired the guy saying it? 🤷🏻‍♀️
@drskyskull Dunning Kruger bias is Musk's superpower.
@drskyskull I had always thought destroying it on purpose was a possibility and what he may have been sent there to do.
@DianeLipartito @drskyskull Well, if I wanted anything done, I can't imagine him being the right man for the job. But: backing him because they think he will f*** up? Sure.
@drskyskull @jwz isn’t there a corollary to Occam‘s razor: if you can explain something through a conspiracy theory or through stupidity, it usually is the latter.
@DrWhoZee @drskyskull @jwz Hanlon's Razor: "Do not attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity."
@drskyskull Maldito sea el día en q compro twitter
@drskyskull how much of a tax write off does he get if it goes belly up?????

@drskyskull

Exactly. Folks, stop trying to explain away every dingdong billionaire move as some kind of cryptogenius 14-dimensional chess. To paraphrase a classic:

"Forget the myths the media has created about the rich. The truth is these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand."

@sphinx @drskyskull the portrayal of him in The Glass Onion was spot on.
Two billionaires, even.
@drskyskull Elon is being such a dumbass and he basically got out a knife and started stabbing twitter
@drskyskull I’ve come to the belief that he can be that stupid. That plus like most millionaires/billionaires, he has a dislike of paying his bills. Not a techie, but I suspect a lot of this has to do with server issues and him not paying Twitter’s Amazon’s bill.
@drskyskull I honestly think he is doing it on purpose because it gets more attention
@drskyskull Never being told “no” makes a person STUPID👌🏾
